Rental Subsidy: Aid for Purchasing VIS Housing

This benefit provides monthly assistance of up to $1,050,543 for a maximum of 24 months. Its goal is to facilitate homeownership by helping cover rent costs while you save for or pay the down payment.

Who is eligible?

Key requirements include:

• Having a household income of up to 2 SMLMV (Legal Monthly Minimum Wages).

• No household member may own or possess a home in Colombia.

• Not having previously received a family housing subsidy for purchase.

• Being affiliated with a Family Compensation Fund (*Caja de Compensación Familiar*) with contributions up to date.

• Being in the process of paying the down payment for a home, in accordance with the Fund's conditions.

What conditions must the rental property meet?

The property can be new or used and must be located in Bogotá or municipalities within Cundinamarca. Additionally, it must have utility connections, be located outside high-risk zones, and be free of legal encumbrances.

The subsidy can cover up to 90% of the rent, without exceeding the maximum amount established for 2026.

What documents do you need?

The application process is digital and may require documents such as:

• Application form.

• Household members' identification documents.

• Employment verification or pay stubs.

• Property Title and Encumbrance Certificate (*Certificado de Tradición y Libertad*).

• Landlord's documents and bank certification.

• Certification from the developer or fiduciary regarding down payment installments, where applicable.

• Property tax records and the lease agreement.
