Mitika, the International Center and Bogotá: 24 Hours of Life!

The centers of capital cities have increasingly become key areas for both tourists and residents. To enhance their potential, the government has implemented improvements in transportation, mobility, and public spaces designed to encourage community interaction. As part of this effort, Bogotá is launching “Productive Bogotá 24 Hours.”

WHAT IS THIS INITIATIVE ABOUT?

According to W Radio, following a pilot program in 2020 in the Chapinero district—which increased local business sales by 35% and created 250 jobs—the new phase of Bogotá Productiva 24 Hours will expand to 13 prioritized zones.

The strategy will officially launch this Friday in La Candelaria and will feature three public space interventions in that area, La Macarena, and the Centro Internacional, where projects like Mitika Apartaestudios are located. This initiative will increase property value in the area while highlighting our apartments as prime options for tourists visiting the capital, now in a vibrant, 24-hour active sector.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This program will boost Bogotá’s gastronomic and tourist routes, traditionally enjoyed by locals. In collaboration with Bogotá’s Museums Board, it will also launch the first “Night of the Museums” in November, an initiative coordinated with Mexico City, Panama, and Asunción. Weekend programming includes:

  • La Candelaria: Fashion system, creative and cultural industries (Oct 22–24)
  • La Macarena – Centro Internacional: Gastronomy, creative and cultural industries (Nov 19–Dec 12)
  • San Felipe: Creative and cultural industries (Nov 26–Dec 10)
  • El Restrepo: Leather, footwear, and marroquinería (Oct 22–31)
