Mitika, the International Center and Bogotá: 24 Hours of Life!

The downtown areas of capital cities have, over the years, become key zones for both tourists and residents. Because of this, the government has improved and implemented new facilities in terms of transportation, mobility, and public spaces that encourage community interaction. This is why the initiative “A 24-Hour Productive Bogotá” will soon begin.

WHAT IS THIS INITIATIVE ABOUT?

According to W Radio, following a pilot carried out in 2020 in the Chapinero district (which generated a 35% increase in local business sales and created 250 jobs), Bogotá Productiva 24 Hours will enter a new phase of implementation, this time across 13 prioritized areas.

The strategy will launch this Friday in the Candelaria district and will include three public space interventions in that area, in La Macarena, and in the Centro Internacional, where projects like Mitika Apartaestudios are located. This will drive incredible property appreciation in the area and put these aparta-studios in the spotlight for tourists to book during their visits to the capital, as the district will now be active 24 hours a day.

This initiative aims to boost the gastronomic and tourist routes traditionally enjoyed by Bogotanos. Additionally, in partnership with the Bogotá Museum Board, it will lead the first Night of the Museums in November, in coordination with Mexico City, Panama, and Asunción. Weekend activities will be ongoing.

Here’s the schedule:

  • Candelaria: fashion system, creative and cultural industries (Oct 22–24)
  • La Macarena – Centro Internacional: gastronomy, creative and cultural industries (Nov 19–Dec 12)
  • San Felipe neighborhood: creative and cultural industries (Nov 26–Dec 10)
